I’m the type of person that listen to a song just because it sounds good. If I like how the vocals and instruments mesh, I’m probably not paying attention to the words. And I’m also the type of person that listens to their favorite song on repeat so much that they eventually become sick of it and refuses to listen to it again for a year….except for Owl City. I’m such a huge fan I never get tired of the songs.

Anyway, my favorite song today (I also switch it around quite a bit based on my mood) is “Wonderland” by Taylor Swift. As a Taylor Swift fan, of course I’m going to download the song without even listening to it. And as an Alice in Wonderland fan, that title grabs my attention. This song is my alarm, my office jam and my workout tune. And….I haven’t looked up the lyrics until right now. Here we go.

Flashing lights? Cop car? Ambulance? Is this song also symbolic of a card accident? Or maybe running away from the police? Because of illegal substances?

Sounds like a car accident caused by illegal substances?

But there were strangers watching and whispers turned to talking and talking turned to screams. Oooooh. 

Questioned answered! But why are strangers screaming at Taylor and her boyfriend?

Didn’t they tell us don’t rush into things? Didn’t you flash your green eyes at me? Didn’t you calm my fears with the Cheshire cat smile? Ooooo. 

Another green eye reference…they must be deadly! And I do not think the Cheshire cat smile would calm my fears.

There’s that brutality again. And yikes! Going crazy!

I reached for you but you were gone, I knew I had to go back home, you search the world for something else to make you feel like what we had and in the end in wonderland we both went mad. Oooooh. 

So back to the car accident/illegal substance theory…did the relationship end because they realized the substances made them mad and crash the car? And the only thing they had in common was substance usage?
